5 Companies Using NVIDIA AI for Clean Energy
nvidia ·
At New York Climate Week, NVIDIA highlighted five companies using AI to accelerate clean-energy development and help build a lower-carbon grid. ThinkLabs AI uses CUDA-powered digital twins and agents to speed up grid interconnection assessments, with Southern California Edison reducing evaluation times from 30–45 days to two minutes. Atomic Canyon’s Neutron and NIVA platforms apply AI-powered knowledge management and assistance to nuclear power plant operations. Redwood Materials combines recycled electric-vehicle batteries, power electronics and NVIDIA Blackwell-based AI to provide flexible, off-grid energy storage for AI data centers while reducing infrastructure needs. TerraPower is using an NVIDIA Omniverse-powered digital-twin platform to accelerate deployment of its sodium-cooled Natrium reactors, which are designed to remain stable without offsite water or electricity during emergencies. Commonwealth Fusion Systems uses NVIDIA Omniverse libraries and OpenUSD to speed development of its SPARC fusion machine, while high-temperature superconductors enable a smaller design and support plans for an ARC plant connected to the Virginia grid in the 2030s.
