Agility Robotics Standardizes Digit 5 on Nvidia IGX Thor Ahead of 2027 Rollout
aiinsider ·
Agility Robotics is standardizing its next-generation Digit 5 humanoid robot on Nvidia IGX Thor for onboard computing, establishing Nvidia as the exclusive compute provider for the general-availability version. This strategic move replaces previous varied architectures with a unified platform designed to support AI, perception, and other critical systems ahead of commercial deployment in 2027. The company is also integrating Nvidia Halos components into Digit’s human-detection and safety systems to enhance reliability and certification readiness. Agility will participate in Nvidia’s AI Systems Inspection Lab to evaluate software, AI components, and cybersecurity protections before third-party validation. Early access to Digit 5 is anticipated in the first half of 2027, followed by broader availability for manufacturing and warehouse operators over the subsequent six to nine months. Concurrently, Agility is preparing to go public through a merger with Churchill Capital Corp XI, with trading expected to begin under the ticker AGLT on Nasdaq after the transaction closes in late 2026. Industry leaders emphasize that unifying compute and safety engineering is essential for scaling humanoid robots in industrial environments.
