AI Adoption Makes It Harder for Managers to Evaluate Staff, Monday.com Survey Finds
aiinsider ·
A recent survey commissioned by Monday.com and conducted by Nielsen reveals that AI adoption is complicating performance evaluations for managers. More than half of senior leaders report difficulty distinguishing between human-generated work and AI-assisted output, as digital tasks now arrive in polished forms. Consequently, nearly half of these managers spend additional time reviewing and guiding their teams to ensure quality and accuracy. Despite these challenges, enthusiasm remains high, with 94% of managers excited about using AI to improve workplace efficiency. Evaluation criteria are shifting significantly, with a majority of respondents placing greater weight on prompting skills and delegation strategies. Managers are increasingly relying on AI for decision-making and drafting reviews, which raises concerns regarding potential algorithmic bias. Furthermore, the report highlights growing tool sprawl and describes supervising AI agents as a new layer of invisible labor. Looking forward, most managers expect to oversee more AI agents than humans within a year, while many worry about losing control over these autonomous systems.
