Aina’s smart ring has a screen, a joystick and a mic so you can talk to AI agents
techcrunch ·
Hardware startup Aina has launched its new 'AI ring,' a $399 smart device designed to serve as a controller for both AI and non-AI applications. The ring distinguishes itself from competitors by integrating a screen, a joystick, a microphone, and a speaker, allowing users to take calls, view notifications, and interact with digital agents directly. Users can dictate notes using Wispr Flow, send prompts to AI agents, set reminders, and control devices like Apple TV or smart home systems through gestures and the joystick. Founder Apoorv Shankar argues that this interface is better suited for proactive agent interaction than traditional phone or laptop screens. The company previously released a three-key controller called Mirage, incorporating lessons learned into this more advanced wearable. While the device offers versatile functionality, the reviewer noted that some software features are still being refined. Pre-orders begin on Thursday at an early-bird price of $399, with general pricing set at $499 after the promotional period ends. Shipping is scheduled to commence in January 2027.
