Amap and Sands China Deploy Tutu Robot Dogs as Resort Guides in Macau
aiinsider ·
Amap and Sands China have begun deploying Tutu robot dogs at Sands Resorts Macau to serve as autonomous visitor guides. These quadruped robots are designed to provide indoor navigation, 3D resort mapping, and multilingual assistance in Chinese and English. During an initial 11-hour test at NBA House, the robots traveled over 40 kilometers, answered 4,546 questions, and fulfilled 214 direction requests. The system allows visitors to explore 3D models of the resort via an app before arrival and enables the robots to navigate crowds without remote control. Company executives highlighted the partnership as a significant step in combining tourism with advanced spatial intelligence technology. Future plans include expanding Tutu’s role across broader resort operations and refining multi-robot coordination. This deployment aims to integrate embodied AI into daily hospitality workflows to enhance guest convenience during peak periods.
