Ahead of the holiday season, Amazon has rolled out over 100 new shopping-related capabilities to its Alexa assistant. These updates empower users to manage shopping lists by creating, registering, and editing items through voice commands. The AI bot now allows for subscription management, such as altering delivery frequencies from monthly to every three months. Additionally, customers can update delivery instructions, including changing addresses or specifying drop-off details. Users can also inquire about Prime or Audible subscriptions and resolve billing or payment issues directly with Alexa. This move aligns with Amazon's broader push into AI-centric shopping features this year. The company reported an eightfold growth in agentic feature usage since the start of the year. Furthermore, over 400 million consumers have utilized Alexa for shopping purposes within the last twelve months.
