Ambitious Bio Launches Healthy Human Protein Atlas to Give AI a More Complete Map of The Human Body

Ambitious Bio has launched Corpus, a comprehensive map of protein presence and abundance across healthy human tissues designed to enhance AI capabilities in biology. The company reports that adding Corpus data increased detected protein inventories by 28% to 78% when compared with 181 public references and published studies. In specific comparisons with the Human Protein Atlas, Corpus identified 56% more proteins in median shared tissues and revealed healthy-tissue expression for drug targets previously undetected. This expanded dataset aims to help pharmaceutical developers assess off-target safety risks earlier by showing where disease-related targets also appear in healthy tissue. Founder Elizabeth Hudson emphasizes that while cars and watches have complete bills of materials, the human body lacks such systematic records, creating a bottleneck for biological AI. Backed by $6 million in seed funding, Ambitious Bio is building infrastructure to generate reliable biological measurements at scale rather than relying on existing clinical data exhaust. The company argues that nations and companies capable of producing this foundational data will lead the emerging biological AI market.
