Anthropic has launched Claude Duet, a new AI agent application designed specifically for professionals and small businesses. This tool positions the company in direct competition with rivals such as Meta Muse, OpenAI Dots, and Grok Bot. Unlike personal assistants that handle errands or bookings, Claude Duet focuses on automating professional tasks like creating daily briefings and building dashboards. The agent operates in the background on a virtual machine, proactively suggesting actions based on user data while seeking approval for significant steps. Powered by Claude Opus 5.5, it integrates with over 6,000 connectors and supports payments through Stripe and Shopify, though it cannot trade securities. Anthropic has also implemented security measures, including a message classifier to prevent sensitive data leaks and default restrictions on sharing credit card numbers. The application is currently available in research preview via a waitlist for Pro and Max subscribers on iOS, Android, and web platforms.
