Anthropic invests $100 million to train 10,000 engineers and tackle the enterprise AI talent gap

Anthropic has launched the Claude Frontier Academy, a new initiative backed by a $100 million investment to address the critical shortage of AI talent in enterprises. The program aims to train 10,000 Frontier Deployed Engineers (FDEs) by the end of 2027, focusing on developing high-level skills necessary for implementing AI systems within business environments. Modeled after medical residency training, the curriculum involves hands-on practice with real-world cases and assessments before engineers receive their credentials. Initial cohorts include prominent organizations such as Accenture, Bain, Capgemini, Deloitte, McKinsey, Morgan Stanley, Novo Nordisk, and the Commonwealth Bank of Australia. Participants undergo a multi-day in-person program followed by a 12-week residency where they lead actual Claude projects at their respective companies. The goal is to produce engineers who can transform business processes and create new products using Anthropic's technology. This academy builds upon the existing Claude Partner Network, which already includes thousands of certified professionals.
