Anthropic puts its most powerful model Claude Mythos 5 to work for cyber defense
decoder ·
Anthropic is now using its most powerful model, Claude Mythos 5, to power its security scanner called Claude Security. The tool scans codebases for vulnerabilities and suggests patches, and it is available in public beta for Enterprise customers, with scans counting as normal token usage. Each finding includes a CWE category, severity ratings, and a suggested fix, though humans still must approve every patch. Anthropic is also integrating Mythos 5 into partner security products that protect hospitals, utilities, and banks, where end users only see results like suggested patches without direct interaction. Several partners currently using Claude Opus for security tools are expected to switch to Mythos 5, and security vendors can apply for partnership access. Claude Mythos is described as Anthropic's most capable model, especially for cyber tasks, which is why it is not broadly available; the rollout aims to support defenders without giving attackers new AI-powered options.
