Anthropic ramps up Claude infrastructure with $35 billion Lambda deal

Anthropic has reportedly signed a $35 billion cloud-computing agreement with Lambda, an Nvidia-backed cloud provider. Reuters, citing an anonymous source, says the data center is being built in Nueces County, Texas, with approximately 350 megawatts of capacity. Hut 8 is developing the facility, while the Wall Street Journal reports that Nvidia holds its lease. The deal is part of Anthropic’s major infrastructure expansion ahead of a planned initial public offering, following a recently announced $45 billion contract with Nscale for a West Virginia data center. The additional capacity is intended to meet rising demand for Anthropic’s Claude model and Claude Code, although the companies involved did not comment to Reuters.
