aiinsider ·
Anthropic has reportedly signed a six-year agreement to rent approximately $45 billion in AI compute from Nscale, a British AI infrastructure company. Nscale, founded in 2024 and partnered with Microsoft, will provide computing capacity based on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin six-chip system. The capacity will come from Nscale’s flagship data center in West Virginia and is expected to support Anthropic’s services beginning in late 2027. The deal is part of Anthropic’s broader effort to expand its computing resources and compete with companies such as OpenAI. The company has also announced major compute arrangements with Volta, AMD, SpaceX, Amazon, Google, and Broadcom in recent months. The article says other major technology companies, including Meta, are likewise pursuing large-scale compute acquisitions.
