Ayar Labs has secured an additional $150 million in funding, bringing its total primary capital raised for 2026 to $650 million. This investment supports the company's transition toward high-volume manufacturing of co-packaged optics (CPO) solutions designed for AI scale-up. Strategic investor Wiwynn joined existing backers including AMD, Intel, MediaTek, and NVIDIA in supporting this expansion. The capital will fund product development, validation efforts, and the establishment of a new design center in Bengaluru, India. Ayar Labs aims to address the power and physical constraints imposed by copper interconnects as AI systems grow from single accelerators to multi-rack architectures. CEO Mark Wade highlighted that copper is becoming a significant bottleneck for scaling AI infrastructure. The new engineering hub in Bengaluru, led by VP Sankara Venkateswaran, complements existing teams in the United States and Taiwan. These initiatives are intended to deepen integration with the semiconductor ecosystem and accelerate commercialization of manufacturing-ready CPO technology.
