Bank of America has mobilized a massive workforce to address software vulnerabilities identified by advanced AI models, including Anthropic's Mythos. The bank hired 1,000 external contractors who are working alongside 3,000 internal employees to resolve these security issues. CEO Brian Moynihan revealed that the institution spent several hundred million dollars in the third quarter on both this software remediation and anti-money-laundering compliance. This initiative follows earlier disclosures from Anthropic and OpenAI regarding their respective cybersecurity programs finding thousands of serious flaws. While critics initially dismissed such warnings as public relations tactics, recent high-profile security incidents have validated the importance of these AI-driven findings. Bank of America is among the first major US corporations to publicly quantify the human resources dedicated to fixing AI-discovered bugs. Despite the current significant investment, Moynihan anticipates that the costs associated with patching will decrease over time.
