Black Forest Labs has released FLUX 3 Action, an open-source AI model specifically designed for robotics applications. Building upon the multimodal FLUX 3 foundation, this new world-action model processes multi-camera video feeds to predict agent actions and environmental changes. The model achieves a record success rate on the RoboLab-120 leaderboard despite having only seven billion parameters. This compact size is less than half that of previous top open models, allowing it to run up to 3.95 times faster. Black Forest Labs highlights that large reasoning models are often too slow and bulky for practical robot deployment, making efficiency critical. Beyond physical robotics, the company sees potential in using video games as testing grounds for navigation and computer-operating agents. The model weights are now available for download on Hugging Face.
