Black Forest Labs has officially released Flux 3 Image, the visual component of its broader Flux 3 model family. The new model features advanced multi-step editing capabilities that allow users to modify specific areas of an image while preserving the rest of the content unchanged. It supports a variety of functions including text-to-image generation, image-to-image transformation, precise text rendering, and photorealistic outputs. Users can compose complex scenes using bounding boxes and incorporate up to ten reference images, with output resolutions reaching up to 4K. To encourage adoption, API access is currently offered at a 50 percent discount through October 8. Commercial licenses are available for companies wishing to run or fine-tune the model on their own infrastructure, with an open-weight version expected in the coming weeks. This launch follows closely after Ideogram announced its own editing-focused model, version 4.5.
