Black Forest Labs has released FLUX 3 Image Klein, a new open-weights text-to-image model featuring 5.6 billion parameters. This model supports advanced capabilities such as native 4K output, pixel-accurate editing, and generation using up to ten reference images. Internal testing indicates it achieves the highest Elo ratings among open models, surpassing competitors like Ideogram V4.5 and BFL's own FLUX.2 [pro]. Notably, the model uses 38 percent fewer parameters than FLUX.2 [klein] while gaining 91 Elo points. An INT8 quantized build allows the model to run on consumer NVIDIA GPUs with only 8 GB of VRAM. On an RTX 4070, the system can generate an image in under nine seconds. The weights are available under the FLUX Kommunity License, permitting free commercial use for companies earning under $5 million annually. Additionally, the model is accessible via API, Hugging Face Spaces, ComfyUI, and Diffusers.
