Blacksmith hits unicorn valuation after Sequoia leads Series C
techcrunch ·
Blacksmith, a software platform designed to streamline continuous integration and testing for AI-generated code, has achieved unicorn status with a $1 billion valuation. The company recently closed a $66 million Series C funding round led by Sequoia Capital. CEO Aditya Jayaprakash stated that the firm was founded to reduce the pain associated with CI processes, which are becoming increasingly critical as AI agents write more software. Since its inception, Blacksmith has grown its annual recurring revenue by 17 times and executed over 90 million CI jobs for clients such as Mercury and Granola. This latest investment follows a rapid trajectory of growth, coming just two months after a Series B round that valued the company at $550 million. In total, Blacksmith has now raised $125 million across its funding history.
