Cal AI Co-Founder Zach Yadegari Secures $10M for Persona, an AI Assistant With a Wearable Band
aiinsider ·
Zach Yadegari, the co-founder of Cal AI, has raised $10 million for his new startup, Persona. The funding round was led by Vine Ventures, with additional participation from Cory Levy and Collective Global. Persona is designed as a personal AI assistant capable of ordering food, booking travel, and managing emails. The service will be paired with a $179 wearable band scheduled for release in December. Unlike always-on devices, the wearable activates via a button press or wrist flick to ensure privacy. Data security features include encryption, user-controlled data deletion, and safeguards against phishing and prompt injection. Currently, the app is available as a free beta on iMessage, while the wearable has already generated significant preorders.
