Canada’s Promise Robotics Signs Multi-Year Deal With US Homebuilder DR Horton for Robotic Homebuilding
aiinsider ·
Canadian startup Promise Robotics has entered into a multi-year agreement with U.S. homebuilder D.R. Horton to utilize its Factory-as-a-Service platform for constructing over 1,250 homes. This partnership marks the first time a major American homebuilder has adopted Promise’s automated production system, which integrates AI-generated plans, robotic manufacturing, and onsite installation. The model allows builders to access automated capacity without needing to operate their own factories, aiming to improve cycle times and production predictability. The deal follows an earlier collaboration with Mattamy Homes in Alberta, where Calgary serves as a production hub and expansion model. While financial terms and specific project locations remain undisclosed, the agreement addresses industry challenges such as labor shortages and rising costs. Promise Robotics CEO Ramtin Attar emphasized that physical AI creates a scalable production infrastructure previously lacking in homebuilding. D.R. Horton executives highlighted their focus on innovation to enhance consistency and efficiency in construction operations.
