Cerebras CEO says we’re nearing a future where everyone has a personal AI assistant at home
techcrunch ·
Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman stated at TechCrunch Disrupt 2026 that personal AI assistants in homes are imminent. He envisions these devices operating as local appliances, similar to smartphones, with a mix of on-device and cloud processing. These assistants would develop deep familiarity with users while maintaining strict security perimeters around their data. Feldman predicts they will eventually handle sensitive tasks like accessing credit cards and making purchases. He cited recent advances in consumer AI agents, such as Meta’s Muse and Instinct, as evidence of this growing capability. Although Cerebras focuses on the underlying hardware infrastructure, Feldman personally utilizes various AI agents for scheduling and information retrieval. He believes his role is to build the platforms that enable other founders to create new consumer-facing applications.
