ChatGPT is getting a lot more visual, with the launch of a new interface

OpenAI is launching a new feature called Intelligent UI alongside its GPT-6 model to make ChatGPT significantly more visual. This update integrates interactive elements such as tappable buttons, customized calculators, editable graphs, and dynamic diagrams directly into user conversations. The primary goal of this shift is to simplify the learning of complex topics by moving beyond purely text-based responses. Product manager Aarush Selvan explained that while ChatGPT has historically been text-focused, visual aids are often more helpful for tasks like planning trips or understanding scientific concepts. During a demonstration, OpenAI showed how the AI can instantly generate illustrative diagrams, such as those explaining airplane wing dynamics or bicycle mechanics. The interface will be customizable, allowing users to reduce the amount of visual content if they prefer. Intelligent UI is rolling out globally to Pro, Plus, Business, and Enterprise users on October 7, with availability for Free and Go users scheduled for the following day.
