ChatGPT mobile app gets voice-based agentic features
techcrunch ·
OpenAI has introduced voice-based agentic features to the ChatGPT mobile app, enabling users to execute complex workflows through voice commands. Subscribers on Plus and Pro plans can utilize the new Work tab to draft documents, summarize emails, build websites, and access financial tools via voice interaction. Meanwhile, free and Go-tier users will gain access to plugins and connected applications through similar voice interfaces. The update also enhances text output richness during voice conversations and allows seamless switching between text and voice modes. Additionally, users can initiate tasks on mobile devices and resume them later on desktop platforms. This rollout follows the July launch of the GPT-Live conversational model, which previously integrated these capabilities into the desktop application. The move reflects a growing trend of users relying on voice assistants for intricate AI-driven tasks.
