China’s State-owned Defense Company Norinco Unveils Humanoid Robot
aiinsider ·
China North Industries Group Corp. (Norinco), a state-owned defense company, is introducing the full-size Fuxi humanoid robot for reconnaissance, patrols, and operations in hazardous environments. The robot can be remotely controlled in real time, allowing a human operator to direct activities while remaining at a distance. Norinco says Fuxi can conduct all-weather reconnaissance, identify people, issue alerts, and perform sentry and patrol duties. Multiple approximately 90-kilogram Fuxi robots can work together in formation. Its teleoperation system maps the operator’s movements onto the robot and is intended to support remote reconnaissance, unmanned operations, and specialized responses. Fuxi was scheduled to appear at the 2026 World Robot Conference in Beijing, where Norinco and affiliated institutes were displaying 68 products, including robots, military equipment, exoskeletons, and aircraft.
