Chinese Moonshot AI negotiates hosting deals with Microsoft, Amazon, and Google

Chinese AI startup Moonshot AI is in early negotiations with Microsoft, Amazon, and Alphabet's Google over revenue-sharing deals that would allow the US companies to host its Kimi K3 model on their Azure, AWS, and Google Cloud platforms. According to Reuters, Moonshot is seeking up to 30 percent of revenue from K3 services, and no Chinese AI company has previously struck such an agreement with a major US cloud provider. The talks remain uncertain, with open questions about the revenue split, data access, and how token usage would be tracked. US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent recently threatened Moonshot with a trade ban, and US authorities have accused the company of stealing Anthropic's model Fable, allegations Moonshot denies. Microsoft, Google, and AWS declined to comment on the matter.
