According to The New York Times, US intelligence agencies suspect that an executive close to Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is acting as an informant for China. The individual identified is Alice Huang of Megaspeed, a Singapore-based data center operator who allegedly passes information to Beijing. Between June 2024 and February 2026, a Malaysian affiliate of Megaspeed purchased at least $4.8 billion in AI hardware containing Nvidia chips. President Trump was briefed on these concerns approximately a year ago but chose not to act, likely to avoid disrupting chip sales or worsening trade relations with China. Consequently, Jensen Huang was not warned about the potential security breach within his circle. While an Nvidia spokesperson stated that meeting customers is standard practice and denied sharing sensitive data, Megaspeed has announced an internal investigation. The Chinese embassy dismissed the allegations as groundless smears.
