ChipAgents Expands Series A Funding to $134M as Demand Grows for Agentic AI in Semiconductor Design
aiinsider ·
ChipAgents, a Santa Clara-based startup founded in 2024 by CEO William Wang, expanded its Series A funding to $134 million by adding a $60 million Series A2 round just six months after its initial close. New investor B Capital joined existing backers Bessemer Venture Partners, Micron, MediaTek, Ericsson, and ScOp. The company reported 6x growth in annual recurring revenue during the first half of 2026 and deployed its platform to more than 120 semiconductor companies, including MediaTek and Micron. ChipAgents uses domain-specific AI agents that can independently plan and execute complex chip design and verification workflows, unlike AI copilots that only assist with individual coding tasks. These agents compress engineering tasks that once took months or weeks into days or hours. The new funding will be used to scale customer deployments, grow engineering and go-to-market teams, and accelerate development of its AI-native semiconductor design platform. Investors expressed confidence in the company's commercial execution and its position to define the next generation of semiconductor engineering.
