Collective, a San Francisco-based startup, has secured $100 million in new financing to expand its AI-powered financial platform designed specifically for solo business owners. The funding package includes a $40 million Series B round led by General Catalyst, QED, and Gradient Ventures, alongside a separate $60 million growth facility from General Catalyst’s Customer Value Fund aimed at customer acquisition. This capital will accelerate the development of new banking and insurance products while enhancing existing accounting, payroll, and tax preparation workflows. By leveraging artificial intelligence to automate complex financial tasks, Collective aims to provide solo entrepreneurs with capabilities typically reserved for larger enterprises. The company reports that its annual recurring revenue is growing by 120% year-over-year and estimates it has helped customers save a combined $350 million in taxes. Targeting an estimated U.S. market of 30 million solo businesses, the platform integrates business formation, invoicing, and customer support into a single interface. Co-founder and CEO Hooman Radfar emphasized that their technology allows individual operators to scale efficiently without needing to hire additional administrative staff.
