Deezer will soon let you filter out AI-generated music

Deezer is developing a new toggle feature that will allow users to filter out AI-generated music from their streaming experience. This update, expected before the end of the year, aims to remove AI tracks, albums, and related artists from search results when activated. CEO Alexis Lanternier highlighted strong user demand for this option, citing a survey where 45% of customers requested the ability to exclude such content. The initiative responds to a significant surge in AI uploads, which recently accounted for over 50% of daily additions to the platform. Deezer previously introduced AI detection tools, noting that AI-generated songs represented 10% of daily uploads at an earlier stage. Other streaming services have adopted varying approaches, with Bandcamp banning AI tracks entirely and Spotify opting to tag them prominently. Apple Music is also reportedly planning to label AI-generated content by year-end. This move positions Deezer as a platform actively addressing listener concerns regarding the proliferation of synthetic music.
