Developers can now access SageMaker Studio through the new AWS experience
aws ·
AWS has launched a streamlined sign-up process that allows new developers to access Amazon SageMaker Studio in just a few steps using existing identities like Google, GitHub, Apple, or Amazon accounts. This update eliminates the traditional barriers of advanced account verification, phone validation, and credit card entry for most users. Upon signing up, customers automatically receive $100 in AWS Free Tier credits, with an opportunity to earn an additional $100, which can be used for model customization, training, and deployments. The new experience integrates seamlessly with previous improvements, such as faster environment creation times of approximately 20 seconds and pre-configured IAM permissions. Users are directed immediately into a fully configured Studio environment, often landing on specific pages based on their entry point, such as Hugging Face model deployment links. Eligible accounts also gain default access to G5, G6, and G4dn GPU instances, with visibility into quota availability within the Studio interface. This initiative significantly reduces friction for individual developers and small startup teams, enabling them to move from discovery to building AI models rapidly. Existing AWS accounts remain unaffected by these changes, continuing to use the standard sign-in methods.
