Dream Labs Raises $90M in Seed Funding to Build Foundation Models for Any Robot
aiinsider ·
Dream Labs has secured $90 million in seed funding led by B Capital and Kindred Ventures to develop foundation models for robotics. Founded in 2026 by former Nvidia researchers, the company aims to create a universal AI brain that can control hardware from various manufacturers. Its primary model, Dream-1, learns from human video demonstrations to predict actions and generate motor commands for tasks like picking, placing, and folding laundry. The startup also launched the Dream API, allowing developers to connect robots via camera feeds and natural language instructions to receive immediate control outputs. Additionally, Dream Labs offers a fine-tuning service for specific tasks and a browser-based Robot Playground for remote testing. The company is currently collaborating with over 20 hardware partners, focusing on affordable robot arms priced between $2,000 and $10,000. Much of the new funding will be allocated to computing infrastructure to expand the range of supported robots and capabilities.
