Dyna Robotics Launches New Robot for Full-Shift Work
aiinsider ·
Dyna Robotics has introduced Dyna 2.1, a semi-humanoid robot designed to perform full-shift commercial tasks autonomously. The device is engineered for continuous operation in environments such as hotels, laundromats, and restaurants, handling complex sequences of physical jobs. It features a wheeled mobile base that eliminates the balance constraints of legged humanoids, paired with an upper torso and two arms equipped with either parallel-jaw grippers or dexterous hands. Key technological components include a vision-language orchestrator for reasoning through multi-step workflows and a whole-body controller coordinating movement. The system utilizes a world action model trained on one million hours of data to manage operations like laundry shifts without human supervision. Dyna demonstrated the robot's ability to load machines, fold towels, and organize them by size while recovering from errors independently. The company emphasizes improving the mean time between interventions by feeding operational data back into the system to enhance performance.
