Dynamic Creatures Emerges From Stealth to Develop Interactive Robots for Entertainment and Hospitality
aiinsider ·
Dynamic Creatures has emerged from stealth to build mobile character robots for entertainment and hospitality, with backing from investors including Eniac Ventures, Kindred Ventures, Heliad, Sunshine Lake, BlueGrass Ventures, and angels Marc Raibert and Lukas Ziegler. The startup is Boston Dynamics’ official entertainment and hospitality partner and is already working with a large theme park and retailer. Its robots are designed to move through guest environments, interpret context, and respond to individuals in real time, positioning them between fixed animatronics and task-oriented service robots. Co-founded by CEO Marc Theermann, a former Boston Dynamics chief strategy officer, and CTO Farbod Farshidian, a former research leader, the company introduced SnowJay, an AI and robotics platform combining robotics, learning-based control, real-time perception, behavioral programming, character design, and costuming. Dynamic Creatures initially targets theme parks, hotels, resorts, casinos, museums, cruise ships, and live venues, with future applications possibly including luxury retail and automotive brand experience centers. Characters built on existing robotic platforms can be deployed within months, and the company also develops fully custom robots for specific brands and environments.
