Efficient Computer has secured over $97 million in Series B financing, raising its total funding to $173 million at a $650 million valuation. The round was led by TQ Ventures with participation from investors including Union Square Ventures and Toyota Ventures. The company aims to address the critical energy constraints limiting AI and general-purpose computing through its innovative Fabric architecture. This clean-slate design offers a 10 to 100 times improvement in energy efficiency compared to existing systems while maintaining compatibility with standard software frameworks like C and C++. Proceeds will be used to scale production of the Electron E1 processor for physical AI applications and expand the technology to datacenter-class performance. CEO Brandon Lucia stated that the goal is to remove energy as a bottleneck for future AI capabilities across various sectors. Unlike specialized AI chips, Efficient’s general-purpose approach supports heterogeneous workloads in robotics, defense, and infrastructure monitoring.
