Emerald AI has raised $150 million in an oversubscribed Series A round at a $1.05 billion valuation, co-led by Energize Capital and DCVC. The round includes investments from 12 Fortune Global 500 companies, such as NVIDIA, Samsung Ventures, Siemens, and Salesforce Ventures. The company’s Emerald Conductor software platform dynamically coordinates AI workloads and onsite energy resources, enabling data centers to reduce power use during grid stress without harming critical AI performance. The technology has completed five global demonstrations and is now deployed commercially at multi-megawatt, full data center scale. Founder and CEO Dr. Varun Sivaram said the funding will accelerate worldwide commercial deployments, including a first-in-the-nation Flexible Load Interconnection Program with Silicon Valley Power and a nearly 100-megawatt power-flexible AI factory in Manassas, Virginia, developed with Digital Realty and NVIDIA. The article notes that data centers are projected to account for nearly half of U.S. electricity demand growth through 2030, and the company claims its approach could unlock more than 100 gigawatts of untapped capacity on the existing U.S. grid. Emerald AI was also named a 2026 TIME 100 Most Influential Company and a 2026 Technology Pioneer by the World Economic Forum.
