Enact Emerges From Stealth With $30M in Pre-Seed Funding to Build Force-and-Touch Robot Intelligence
aiinsider ·
Zurich-based startup Enact has emerged from stealth mode with $30 million in pre-seed funding to develop physical AI focused on force and touch capabilities. The company aims to enhance robot dexterity by creating a proprioceptive nervous system that utilizes signals from existing actuators for real-time sensory feedback. This approach allows robots to sense physical interactions without requiring additional hardware or fragile sensors, relying instead on whole-body awareness. Backers of the round include prominent investors such as Redalpine, Notion Capital, and Firstminute Capital, alongside industry leaders like Yann LeCun and executives from Mistral and Hugging Face. Enact’s technology is designed for automation tasks where handling variation is more valuable than high-volume repetition, targeting industrial and other physical environments. To support its growth, the startup is expanding its Zurich operations and hiring across robotics, AI research, and mechanical engineering disciplines. The team includes professionals with experience at major organizations such as Google DeepMind, Amazon Robotics, and ETH.
