Everything new coming to Meta’s AI agent Muse
techcrunch ·
At its annual Connect event, Meta unveiled significant new capabilities for its personal AI agent, Muse, which CEO Mark Zuckerberg described as the centerpiece of the company's consumer AI strategy. The agent, powered by the Muse Spark model, will soon feature a customizable digital avatar named Jolly that users can video chat with in real time. Integration with Meta’s smart glasses is also incoming, allowing users to interact with Muse via voice commands for tasks like logging meals or booking appointments. On desktops, Muse will gain the ability to operate Mac applications autonomously, helping users manage small businesses or complete work tasks without constant supervision. To facilitate these background operations, Meta announced that Muse will receive its own dedicated email address and be able to handle email threads directly. The platform has secured extensive partnerships with retailers such as Best Buy, Walmart, and Sephora, alongside payment processors like Stripe and Shopify, to enable seamless shopping experiences. Additionally, Meta opened its connector platform to developers, receiving over 1,500 applications in less than a week to expand ecosystem integration. While currently free for a large number of tokens, Meta expects to eventually generate revenue by taking a small fee from transactions processed through the agent.
