Exclusive: Aina’s Smart Ring Wants to Be a Remote Control for Your AI Agent
wired ·
Aina, a startup formerly known as Project Mirage, has introduced the Aina Ring, a titanium smart ring designed to serve as a remote control for AI agents. The device aims to eliminate the bottleneck of using smartphones for approving or rejecting proactive tasks from virtual assistants. Featuring a small display and a joystick-like button, the ring allows users to quickly accept actions such as ordering rides or sending emails with a simple flick. It utilizes a Context Aware Operating System to learn user routines and suggest relevant 'Cues' based on location, calendar, and connected services like Uber or Spotify. The ring also supports voice commands for note-taking and includes a tiny speaker for hands-free phone calls. Priced at $399 for preorders before rising to $499, the device is scheduled to ship in January 2027. Unlike previous attempts to replace phones entirely, Aina positions itself as a complementary tool to keep AI agents working efficiently without constant manual input.
