Facebook is giving users more control over their algorithm
techcrunch ·
Meta has launched a new AI-powered feature called "Your Algorithm" on Facebook, allowing users to exert greater control over the content appearing in their feeds. This tool enables individuals to describe their preferences using natural language, directly influencing what they see in both Feed and Reels. The update aims to make recommendations more relevant by letting users communicate specific topics they want to see more or less frequently. Additionally, Meta has updated the three-dot menu on individual posts to provide easier access to these preference settings and feedback options. This move mirrors similar features previously introduced on Instagram and Threads, such as "Dear Algo," reflecting a broader industry shift toward user-driven personalization. By integrating natural language interaction, Meta seeks to refine its recommendation systems based on direct user input rather than relying solely on automated signals.
