Fortaegis Raises $50 Million to Secure AI Infrastructure at The Silicon Level
aiinsider ·
Dutch startup Fortaegis has successfully raised $50 million in an oversubscribed Series A funding round to commercialize its silicon-based security technology. The investment, led by Singapore-based Serendipity Capital, includes participation from TEL Venture Capital and TNO among other investors. This capital will support the transition from technology testing to commercial production, with manufacturing expected to begin in 2027 across the U.S., Europe, and Asia. Fortaegis utilizes unique physical variations in semiconductor manufacturing to create digital fingerprints for each chip, enabling dynamic encryption keys that are not permanently stored. This approach aims to secure AI infrastructure, autonomous systems, and connected machines against threats posed by both traditional hacking and future quantum computing capabilities. The company is currently working with over 25 organizations globally, including governments and entities in defense and telecommunications sectors. Additionally, Fortaegis is developing application-specific integrated circuits and field-programmable gate arrays to embed its security architecture directly into hardware. Internal tests claim the platform offers connection speeds more than 200 times faster than conventional methods, though detailed benchmarks were not provided.
