Foundry Robotics Raises $100M in Series A Funding to Expand Autonomous Assembly for Defense, Industry
aiinsider ·
Foundry Robotics has secured $100 million in Series A funding to expand its autonomous assembly capabilities for defense and industrial hardware. The investment, led by Marlinspike Partners with participation from Khosla Ventures and others, will support the growth of its 130,000-square-foot facility in Emeryville. This expansion increases the company's production capacity twentyfold, establishing it as the first U.S. autonomous factory dedicated to assembly. Foundry utilizes a manufacturing-as-a-service model, employing AI-powered robotic cells and its proprietary FoundryOS software to assemble complex products like drones, satellites, and ground robots. The company aims to reduce time-to-market by allowing customers to move from design to production in weeks without building dedicated lines. Co-founded by Adarsh Kulkarni and Emmanuel Lamacchia, Foundry focuses on high-value products requiring frequent design changes or limited volumes. Its leadership team includes veterans from Tesla, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman, reflecting a strong background in robotics and aerospace.
