From theory to delivery: How Atos upskilled 400 engineers in agentic AI
aws ·
Atos partnered with AWS to run a three-day agentic AI League event that upskilled 400 engineers by moving them from theoretical knowledge to hands-on delivery. Participants built autonomous agents that navigated a dungeon maze, solving challenges while managing time, lives, and efficiency, with scores tracked on a live leaderboard. The event used native AWS services including Amazon Bedrock, AgentCore, Lambda, Guardrails, SageMaker, and Kiro, and challenged engineers in areas such as prompt engineering, multi-agent architecture, guardrail configuration, pathfinding algorithms, and observability. The format combined a kick-off workshop, daily office hours, and a finale, allowing engineers to learn through competitive, practical application rather than passive training. As a result, all 400 engineers gained hands-on experience, developed practical skills in multiple AWS services, and produced internal champions with greater confidence in applying agentic AI to client work. The post also shares lessons for other enterprises considering similar hands-on upskilling events.
