Germany’s RobCo Tops $1B Valuation, CEO Moves to US
aiinsider ·
German industrial robotics startup RobCo has achieved unicorn status with a valuation exceeding $1 billion, doubling its worth in just nine months. The company secured investment from existing backers like Sequoia and Lightspeed, alongside new participants such as Cherry Ventures and the European Tech Collective. This transaction also enabled long-standing employees to sell portions of their holdings, allowing them to realize some of the value they created. RobCo is currently developing Alfie, an autonomous robot designed for complex manufacturing tasks, with a commercial launch scheduled for March 2027. To support its rapid growth, co-founder and CEO Roman Hölzl has relocated to the United States, which is described as the company's fastest-growing market. Customer operations now span more than a dozen U.S. states, supported by facilities in Austin and San Francisco. The company utilizes a Robotics-as-a-Service model that avoids upfront equipment costs for customers.
