Germany has signed a strategic agreement with Nvidia to develop advanced artificial intelligence models tailored for industrial and physical AI applications. This initiative is a key component of the federal government’s AI Roadmap and Industry 4.0 Platform, aiming to merge traditional German engineering expertise with cutting-edge technology. The project will focus on creating specialized open industrial AI models based on Nvidia Nemotron and Nvidia Cosmos technologies. A central element of the effort is the refocused Industry 4.0 Platform, which serves as a network connecting policymakers, researchers, and industry representatives. The partnership seeks to broaden access to AI advancements by expanding Nvidia's collaborations to include small and midsize businesses alongside larger industrial companies. Government officials stated that the goal is to strengthen Germany’s productivity, competitiveness, and technological sovereignty. The joint declaration was signed at the Invest in Germany Summit by relevant ministries, with Chancellor Friedrich Merz in attendance.
