Google Begins Gemini 4 Argon Frontier Model Rollout
aiinsider ·
Google has officially launched the Gemini 4 Argon model for developers, enterprises, and consumers, expanding its availability beyond the initial early-access phase. The frontier model is accessible via the paid Gemini API, AI Studio, Google Antigravity, and select subscription services, with introductory pricing set at $2 per million input tokens and $10 per million output tokens. Argon features a unified context window of up to one million tokens, designed to support long-running tasks in coding, research, and agentic workflows. In software development, internal tests showed that engineers using Argon increased agent-generated code submissions by over 35% while reducing rollbacks by nearly one-third. The model also demonstrated significant capabilities in scientific research, assisting with quantum error correction, nuclear fusion mathematics, and genome analysis. Additionally, Google highlighted Argon's performance in robotics, where it successfully guided a humanoid robot through a physical task using a video-to-simulation pipeline. To ensure safety, the company introduced new safeguards against prompt injection and harmful requests alongside the broader rollout.
