Google Cloud races to catch up in the AI deployment wars with Accenture deal
techcrunch ·
Google Cloud and Accenture have formed a joint unit called the Accenture Gemini Enterprise Business Group to help enterprises adopt Google’s AI tools. This partnership focuses on deploying forward-deployed engineers, or FDEs, who will guide companies in integrating AI into their workflows. The initiative aims to address the current gap between massive infrastructure investments and realized revenue for hyperscalers like Google. Under the agreement, Google will train up to 1,000 of Accenture’s engineers to build custom applications on the Gemini Enterprise platform. This move is part of a broader strategy by Google to catch up with rivals such as OpenAI and Microsoft in the competitive AI deployment market. Data indicates that while Google holds a smaller share of enterprise AI spending compared to competitors, it is aggressively expanding its partner ecosystem to secure larger strategic deals. Other major tech firms and consultancies are similarly launching FDE programs to solve integration bottlenecks for businesses.
