Google Launches AI Design Tool and Rolls Out New Gemini-Powered Android Accessibility Features
aiinsider ·
Google announced two AI initiatives: an image-creation tool for Workspace and new accessibility features for Android. The tool, Google Pics, is powered by the Nano Banana model and will reach Workspace business customers and Google AI Pro/Ultra subscribers in the coming weeks. It emphasizes AI prompting over manual design, with capabilities like object isolation, in-image text editing, and collaborative selection of multiple generated results. It will launch in Docs and Slides before expanding to Drive. Separately, five Android updates focus on accessibility and personalization. Motion Assist uses an overlay to ease motion sickness in vehicles, while Guided Vision pairs the camera with Gemini to aid blind or low-vision users with tasks like reading labels and navigating menus. Gemini also gains a Find Hub feature for verbally logging where items are stored, and updates include Google Keep integration and more personalization in Google Messages.
