Google has launched Gemini Enterprise for Legal, a new AI solution designed for legal work such as contract review, legal research, and regulatory change tracking. The product uses MCP connectors to integrate with legal systems like iManage, NetDocuments, DocuSign, Everlaw, RelativityOne, Thomson Reuters HighQ, and Harvey, while respecting existing access permissions. It is aimed at law firms and corporate legal departments, with partners like Deloitte offering pre-built AI agents for tasks such as contract summarization. According to Google Cloud CEO Thomas Kurian, the product is available now in preview as part of a new lineup of industry-specific AI solutions. A similar offering for financial services launched the same day, with healthcare and life sciences versions planned. The article notes that Anthropic already offers similar plugin-based solutions, and that these industry packages essentially consist of pre-built prompts and data connections built on standard AI models.
