Google Rolls Out New AI Study Tools Across Search and Gemini

Google has announced a broad set of new AI-powered study features for Search and Gemini, aimed at students. These include interactive visuals, 3D simulations, customized practice quizzes, and a dedicated learning hub. In Search, students can generate interactive diagrams through AI Overviews, refine them with AI Mode, and receive custom practice quizzes across subjects. Google Lens will soon let students photograph assignments and get AI-guided explanations and error identification, while Search can compile study documents from uploaded files. On the Gemini side, users can launch multi-step research reports through Gemini Live and discuss the results conversationally, and Gemini can generate functional 3D simulations like DNA structures. A new learning hub in the Gemini app consolidates study notebooks, flashcards, and practice quizzes into one place. These moves position Gemini as a primary AI tool for students amid growing competition from OpenAI and education-focused startups.
