Granite Switch 4.1.1 — Update models like you update software
huggingface ·
IBM has released Granite Switch 4.1.1, a patch update to its modular language model architecture that maintains full backward compatibility with version 4.1. This release introduces an updated Granite Speech ASR model capable of multilingual speech-to-text across ten languages, featuring native punctuation and capitalization for immediate downstream use. Additionally, the Decision adapter within granitelib-core has been enhanced to improve performance on the Jev Decision Index test set. A key advantage of this update is its efficiency, as the base model remains untouched while only new adapters are recomputed and deployed. The team highlights the speed of this release cycle as evidence of the system's flexibility for rapid iteration. Future developments include an Adapter SDK and tutorials to enable third-party developers to create their own adapters. Users are encouraged to test the latest models and explore the new capabilities in the Speech-to-Decisions demo.
